The days when Saturtzi was the most relevant port in Biscay in inshore fishing and the romantic figure of the 'sardineras' (female sardine sellers) are now a thing of the past.
Even today, one can sense the delicious scent of the smoky grills that the sea wind pushes inland. A real temptation for the visitor, who can sample its famous small sardines, or any seasonal fish grilled in the traditional style.
Only 10 minutes walk along the seafront promenade will take us to visit Agurtza, Interpretation Centre for the live bait fishing technique, one of the last wooden vessels for traditional fishing remaining in our coast.
Includes: Admission ticket to the Agurtza fishing interpretation center and pintxo (tapa) tasting
