In Marmitako Sailing we propose you to enjoy our coast and our estuary on a trip that brings together the most precious treasures of Euskal Herria. You can enjoy sailing, taste our exquisite cuisine, immerse yourself in our history witnessing the vestiges of our post-industrial architecture and at the same time enjoy the present in a Bilbao that is more alive than ever.
At 1:00 p.m. we will embark on the Santurtzi jetty, we will sail along the coast and see the cliffs of Punta Galea, the beautiful beaches of our coast, the Old Port of Algorta, the emblematic lighthouses and towers that dot the coast, later we will enter the Ría de Bilbao, we will sail under the oldest Suspension Bridge in the world. We will take a look at the vestiges of the industry that are still standing and evoke past times, but not so distant, in which life in Bizkaia and its estuary was harder.
On the way down from the estuary we will taste a delicious Marmitako, traditional fishermen's food, cooked with the affection of an Amatxu and washed down with the rich wines of neighboring Rioja Alavesa.
It is estimated that we will disembark in Santurtzi at 5:00 p.m.
In the summer season or when the weather allows it, the tour can be done sailing through the open sea and anchoring at a beach to eat.
Departure from the Santurtzi Marina. We will sail through the Abra enjoying the views of Ereaga Beach, Algorta Old Port, Arrigunaga Beach and the impressive cliffs of Punta Galea. We will toast at sunset with a Rioja Alavesa wine or a Txakoli, or if you prefer with a soft drink or a beer while we have a delicious pintxo. We will disembark in Santurtzi where you can continue enjoying the lively bars and restaurants in the area.
* The schedule of this activity will depend on the sunset time according to the time of year.
